SFN/Applications update/madness

Argggghhhhh!

Seriously. The Rhodes and Commonwealth applications are in, I have the digital recorder ready for the conference, and my poster is ready. All was well for Nick. Sure, I still have NSERC to apply for, but in the worst case scenario I can complete the online forms over the weekend in Atlanta.

But it gets better. Oh yes.

You see, I handed my official birth certificate over to the Rhodes committee. I had a certified copy made for the Commonwealth. But it slipped my mind that I might actually NEED that to get into the U.S. Given my passport expired this summer, I could be barred from the plane. Maybe I’m overreacting. Maybe.

Simmer down.

Go eat a pizza pop.

Run run run

I’ve decided to stick with my right-justified title and my poster is now ready for the conference. I just returned from the university after ordering transcripts to cover the bases for options in the UK. After asking a professor of mine to write a letter of reference, I find myself filling out yet another form. This time for NSERC. Too many contingency plans! Anyways, time to finish up a few more papers and get some food.

And now it’s snowing.

T minus 16 days and counting…

SFN is almost here! Where did the time go? I was working on my poster while I was at home the past few days. Quite strange. I have a general idea of what to expect, but I gather the size of the conference will surprise me the most. Hopefully people will actually pay attention to my poster. Aghhhh! So much to get ready! At least I can go to Boston afterwards.
